The best Bath Bomb

Everyone is aware of the wonderful benefits of using a bath bomb. Whether it be the aroma therapy, the relaxation of the salts or even the color therapy provided through the changing of tub water color via the bath bomb. So how do you choose the bath bomb that's right for you?
For me I like to look at a few things: What are the additional benefits of the ingredients? Are the ingredients natural? Is it hand made? Is it made in America? Does the company support a charitable cause?
For me all of those questions can be answered through the ADVEKET Beyond Binary Activated Charcoal Dextox Bathbomb! The aroma therapy is light and smooth, using essence of Aloe and Oak Moss to sooth the senses. The bath bomb turns the water black (no it does not stain the tub). So your body is enveloped in a black calming abyss to help melt worries from the mind. Activated Charcoal then works to cleanse the skin of bacterias and dirt to help prevent break outs and promote clarity, while he bath salt works to calm muscles and relax the body over all. It is a complete sensory experience that helps to elevate daily stress, remove toxins and bacteria
Most importantly a portion of the proceeds from the ADVEKET Beyond Binary bath bomb is donated to the nonprofit for equality I Wore Lipstick A charity that works to raise equality awareness and create opportunity for lipstick wearers!!
The bath bombs are available online at www.adveketcosmetics.com

Representation Matters: ADVEKET launches BEYOND BINARY skincare

ADVEKET cosmetics has launched into skincare and apothecary with a Thermal activated charcoal Glow Mask! I chose to titles the skincare and apothecary series Beyond Binary not only to keep with the gender fluid theme of ADVEKET, but also to acknowedelge that the Gender Binary needs to be explored and validated every step of the way in every day life. Representation matters, doing something as simple as labeling a product to show support for those beyond the traditional gender binary shouldn't be revolutionary. It should be common practice in every small business going forward. Brands that choose to stick to the traditional gender binary need to check themselves and their culture that they're propagating. This week the Comments (which have been apologized for) made by an L Corp exec regarding the Victorias Secret  show proves that there are still many mountains of visibility and inclusion to climb. I take special care on the ADVEKET social media to be as inclusive as possible ( ADVEKET's Instagram ) and to make sure every product has a universal name. Small actions can mean so much to so many, it is worth making the effort to be supportive and to let the full gender spectrum know that they are seen, respected and appreciated.
At this moment in time I feel it is also important for a line to have a purpose behind it. It should no longer be acceptable for a cosmetics company to simply exist for profit and do nothing to help the community that supports it's business. There are absolutely companies that do have charitable aspect and were doing it since before it was a topic of conversation. To those corporations, thank you! To the celebrity owned and endorsed lines that do nothing but use their platform for business and personal gain- you are CANCELED! I refuse to support the agenda of someone/ or some company that doesn't use it's powers for the good of humanity. It is so important for consumers to know where their money goes and who it supports. I love this app Buycott that lets you track who and what the parent companies of products support!
In keeping with it's core theme ADVEKET (created by celebrity make up artist Justin Tymeis launching it's BEYOND BINARY skincare line! The first product to launch will be an activated charcoal mask. In this day in time more people than ever before are paying attention to their skin.  Charcoal is also having it's moment in the spotlight after a lifetime of being a secret skincare secret! Activated charcoal has many skincare benefits. One spectacular one is that it deep cleanses and helps to purify the skin. This can also lead to smaller pores and help with acne or break out prone skin. Also utilizing Sodium Bicarbonate to remove bacteria and decongest pores.
How to use:
This mask is to be applied to clean dry skin. Allow the mask to sit for 5 minutes followed by massaging your face with wet fingers. Upon contact with water the mask will heat up and ultra fine white charcoal powder gentle exfoliate the skin (Benefits of exfoliating). Massage for not more than a few minutes and gently rinse or wipes off any remnants with waters or a damp face clothe.  AVOID THE EYE AREA! Follow with your regular skincare routine after. I would also recommend a light facial massage to increase circulation (Benefits of facial massage))
Also included in the new BEYOND BINARY skincare and apothecary collection are charcoal bath bombs and soap. Lightly scented with notes of oat moss and aloe. They provide a soft relaxing experience while the charcoal works to detox and cleanse the skin.

Normal skincare may life or case your make up to move once your body heats up. Using a mask preps and is then absorbed into the skin, so there is nothing to life! Best Brown lipstick for the fall

Many lipstick wearers like to follow the fall lipstick trend and wear a "brown-ish" shade during the autumn, but choosing an earth toned shade can prove to be a bit tricky. One of the Best Brown lipsticks for the fall is also one of my favorite shades in the new ADVEKET collection "Ambition". This shade a warm medium toned chestnut with a soft cushiony semi-matte finish. It is a richly pigmented shade with extremely long wearing capabilities. The inspiration for the shade name Ambition comes from the strides made by women in entertainment over the last few years. Whether it be the brave humans of the Me Too Movement and the Time's Up Or the recent accomplishments of in bring the iconic DC Comics Wonderwoman in the fantastic Wonderwoman Film by Patty Jenkins starring Gal Gadot and all the strides made by the African American entertainment community at the Golden Globes Oscars and with Marvel Comic's Black Panther
My favorite way to use this color is to first like the lips with ADVEKETs Gender Fluid Lip Liner Advocate, then apply the "Ambition" Gender Fluid Lipstick with a brush or directly from the tube. Finish off with the Exceptional Gender Fluid Lipgloss. I love using this gloss because it's a neutral pink. It works to slightly soften any shade it is placed over.
ADVEKET was created to help support the work of equality nonprofit I Wore Lipstick by donating $1 from the sale of each lip product to the charity. You can find  ADVEKET online or in Los Angeles at The Hello Darling Salon at Century City Mall and in New Orleans at Preaux Face

Skincare for the gender spectrum

ADVEKET was created as a lipstick line that was meant to showcase the diversity of the lipstick wearing community. I was founded to help support the work of equality nonprofit I WORE LIPSTICK by donating a portion of every sale to the charity. So when approaching skincare & apothecary I had to take into account that skincare was for every face and not just lipstick wearers. Skincare touches every human face at some point, most everyone has the same relaxing feeling when applying skincare and most everyone loves a good bath & to cleanse the body. Taking this into consideration I decided to branch out from out "Gender Fluid Beauty" series and create BEYOND BINARY to help further our mission of gender equality and diversity awareness. Gender is an ever evolving understanding of one's self and Beyond Binary seemed to be the perfect fit.One issue that I have with many skincare lines (as well as many other types of products) is that they're typically divided and color coded for gender. It happens from birth and it enforced in to many different ways NY TIMES article on gender color separation
BBC article on the pink vs blue gender myth
The gender color divide continues into adulthood and can even contribute to a price increase for one sex! Here's a Business insider article of gendered product price differences
and one about Pink Tax of women products from USA TODAY
Now sometimes the small difference between male and female skin is taken into consideration when constructing the products Harpers Bazaar article on formulating of skincare for gender This is just about the only time when gender should be considered.
Taking all of this into consideration with respect to all parties ADVEKET's skincare an apothecary is formulated for all skin types & skin genders. Our activated charcoal mask, bath bombs and soap are minimally scented and the packaging to simply & environmentally friendly.

The world around us is a scary place at the moment and this is on top on every humans daily stress. I think coming out with a few choice products would be a nice addition to help out friends in the pursuit of some "Me Time". I know for me personally, when I shut the bathroom door- that is MY TIME. To cleanse & scrub both my body and mind and help me to reset and prepare for everything waiting for me on the other side of that door." Justin Tyme. My hope is that with combination of the Thermal Glow mask, the charcoal bath bombs and the charcoal soap will help each user to not only relax & repair, but also to help cleanse and detox the body.

ADVEKET Cosmetics was founded in 2016 by make-up artist Justin Mayfield. Inspired to create a cosmetic line utilizing the visibility of make-up to increase awareness and acceptance of human equality. "Beauty knows no gender or race, there is beauty in every face at any age. All beauty is equal and it deserves to be celebrated" Justin Tyme. In 2015 Justin founded 501C3 tac exempt nonprofit I Wore Lipstick to help raise awareness of equality issues faced by those who wear lipstick. It seemed only fitting to create an cosmetic line inspired by the same ideals that could help support the equality work of the nonprofit. $1 from the sale of every Gender Fluid lipstick will be donated directly to equality nonprofit "I Wore Lipstick". The History of Rosebud Perfume Co.

His Early Years and Family - Dr. Smith was born near Woodsboro, Maryland, on March 25, 1865. He was the son of Solomon and Adeline Locke Smith and the grandson of John and Susan Earnst Smith. He grew up on a farm near Woodsboro but soon realized his ambition went far beyond the plow. After receiving his preliminary education in Woodsboro, he attended and graduated from Shenandoah Normal College in Harrisonburg, Virginia. After receiving a teaching degree, Dr. Smith moved to Utica, Maryland, where he taught school and married local resident, Minnie F. Baer. He taught school in Frederick County, Maryland, for five years before realizing his desire to become a druggist. He entered the proprietary drug and medicine field and was registered by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy in 1902.
Dr. Smith and Minnie had eight children:Mamie Irene, Lillian Mae, Raymond Lee, Henry Ward, Allen Reno, Alta La Rue, Mabel Pauline, and Mildred Naomi. All of Dr. Smith's and Minnie's children are deceased, but their heirs live on to own and run the family business. Dr. Smith was president of the Commercial State Bank in Frederick, Maryland, from 1925 to 1930. From 1937 until his death in 1952, he held an office in the Woodsboro Savings Bank (now known as the Woodsboro Bank) in Woodsboro, Maryland. He served as the mayor of Woodsboro for 19 years. He was a life long lover of music, giving band concerts on the upstairs porch of the Rosebud Building. He loved to race bicycles and collect automobiles. During his life, he owned more than 80 cars. His favorite car was the Packard. Dr. Smith loved to attend the annual Miss America pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and seldom missed a judging.
Today, the Rosebud Building is much the same as it was when Dr. Smith operated the business. Smith's old drugstore bottles and preparations are still housed in his pharmacy room. It is like a trip back in time to see the many items left from his multifaceted life. One can almost hear the chatter of the Heidelburg Workers, ladies affectionately so named who created hundreds of beautiful quilts in the building. The fragrances of the rose oils that have permeated the walls and halls for over a century are evident still. You can relive the drama of the Civil War where meetings were held on this same site to resolve the backing of Governor Hicks and to express the citizens' determination to remain in the Union. G. F. Smith was one of the first druggists to sell fountain Coca Cola and was even visited once by the originator of the beverage. Dr. Smith was an agent for Columbia Records and frequently gave musicals by playing old cylinder recordings on the Edison phonograph. The Business Years Dr. George F. Smith founded the Rosebud Perfume Company in 1895.
The business began in a small drugstore located across the street from what is now known as the Rosebud Building in Woodsboro, Maryland. Friends and customers suggested that he prepare for them a family salve that could be used for various minor skin irritations. With this as a challenge, Dr. Smith formulated a product known as Smith's "Balsam of Rosebuds" which was later renamed Smith's "Rosebud Salve." Realizing its local popularity, Dr. Smith decided to advertise his product in country tabloids, and within a few years he had organized one of the most unique mail order businesses in the United States. Several years later, Dr. Smith purchased the old Smith Hotel. He sold his drugstore and moved into the imposing brick building which has served as the home of Rosebud products for over 100 years.
The mail order business offered four major brands for agents to sell door to door. They sold Rosebud Salve, Tholene Mentholated Salve, Rosebud Perfume, and Vivian Perfume named for the founder's granddaughter and current president of Rosebud Perfume Company, Vivian Smith Pruitt Clipp. Later, two aftershaves for men were created: Poke of Limes and Tobacco Five Cologne, both of which were sold in specialty shops. Over 70,000 agents sold Rosebud products in hopes of getting a premium for their sales efforts. The Rosebud Perfume Company Building was filled with "premiums" or "rewards" for the young and old alike. Curtains, BB guns, silverware, phonographs, and old cylinder records were among the rewards one could aspire to receive as a result of outstanding sales. Mail order catalogs were sent all over the United States to advertise the premiums.
The effort and hard work of door to door sales insured the salesman a valued prize. Today G.F. Smith, the Rosebud Perfume Company, and the Rosebud Building have all stood the test of time. Fine Rosebud products are still being sold locally, nationally, and internationally. Rosebud Perfume Company's, Inc. success is due to selling quality products at reasonable prices for well over 100 years!

Why imbuing ADVEKET with the mission of I Wore Lipstick was important

When I founded in I Wore Lipstick in 2015, I had the mission to focus on the lipstick wearers as their own community. When you look at those who wear lipstick it is women and the LGBTQIA community. Every member of this group is often also marginalized by society in some way. Often times when the plight of one of these communities gain focus, another is left unattended. The purpose of I Wore Lipstick was to help keep this community entirely in the spot light and aide them in every way possible.
Soon realizing that founding a nonprofit and keeping it going would be a costly activity ( I was never the best at fundraising) I decided that getting the support of a cosmetics line would be an excellent way to go. Looking over many lines, finding out who they were owned by soon provided the knowledge that it would be some time (if ever) before I would be able to gain the support a newly formed nonprofit would need. Thus I decided to create one myself that would instill the values of I Wore Lipstick from day one.
ADVEKET is spelled phonetically when used as a noun to symbolize the wearer as their own advocate. Each lip product is part of the Gender Fluid series to represent the diverse community of lipstick wearers and every product is giving an uplifting name. When these names are combine you created your "lip mantra" for the day (example: Create Exceptional Love) to further inspire the wearer to live their best and most authentic life.
ADVEKET also pledges to donate $1 per item sold to the nonprofit to help fund it's work!
ADVEKET was created to be a source of good, to help inspire social change and advocate for self love. I cannot wait to see where the future takes us and what kind of change these two sibling entities can accomplish! Social Media @justintymeart @adveket @iworelipstick

I Wore Lipstick

I Wore Lipstick is a C3 nonprofit devoted to raising equality awareness and creating opportunity for lipstick wearers. When you look at the lipstick wearing community, you see a diverse population that extends around the world and has been existed through the history of modern civilization. So often when one section of the community is trailblazing, it can eclipse the movement of another. I Wore Lipstick is focused of advocating for all lipstick wearers 100% of the time.
